Charlottesville Police have a suspect in the Thursday morning just after midnight shooting in the 1300 block of Carlton Avenue. Charlottesville Police Detectives have obtained charges against 25-year-old Charlottesville resident, Travis William Herndon of aggravated malicous wounding, malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, malicious shooting into an occupied vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a violent felon. If you see him or know where he is, you’re urged not to approach as he should be considered armed.
Charlottesville Police responded shortly after midnight Thursday to a report of a shooting on Carlton Avenue and found a vehicle that had crashed into a mobile home. Inside the vehicle, officers found an 18-year old victim that Chief Mike Kochis tells Morning News had been shot in the head. She was taken to UVA and listed Thursday morning in stable condition with serious wounds.
