CHARLOTTSVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW/THE DAILY PROGRESS) – In plain clothes, producing no identification and no warrant, and one wearing a mask… The Daily Progress has obtained video of three men claiming to be federal agents taking a 41-year old house painter in Albemarle General District Court on an assault charge out of the courthouse in handcuffs. Reporter Hawes Spencer spoke to Nicholas Reppucci from the Charlottesville public defender’s office representing the man who apparently got in a fight with a roommate, that he knows of no charges or where his client, nor a 32-year old man reportedly also taken while trying to pay a DUI fine there, was taken.
