CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A 17-year-old Charlottesville man was shot, suffering non-life threatening injuries, during an incident on Prospect Ave. in Charlottesville on Monday night, the Charlottesville Police Department announced.

“It is believed that multiple suspects who may have been involved in the incident fled the area in a silver or light-colored SUV,”
a CPD release said.

CPD officers received a report of a shooting in the 700 block of Prospect Ave. at about 7:30 p.m. There is a large police presence in that area as the investigation is on-going.

The victim was transported to the UVA Medical Center for treatment.
