CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A 67-year-old man was killed Wednesday night when he was struck by a car at the 1700 block of Emmett Street North, Charlottesville Police announced Thursday.
Police and fire responders were called to the scene of a vehicle crash involving a pedestrian at about 9:29 p.m. When they arrived, they found the driver of the vehicle had remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with investigators. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Charlottesville Police Department’s Traffic Unit and the General Investigations Bureau, in coordination with the Charlottesville Commonwealth Attorney’s Office.
