We are saddened to share the passing of Paul Michael Roane on May 2, 2024. Mike was born on May 19, 1944 to Garland and Naomi Roane. He spent his childhood in Danville, Virginia. After graduation from high school, he spent a short active duty in the Virginia National Guard, then set out to Richmond to find a job.

As luck would have it, he met his future wife and best friend Linda, who encouraged him to get an education. He went on to graduate from RPI (VCU) with a degree in accounting, to become a partner in Mitchell, Wiggins, & Co CPA firm, then became a Certified Financial Planner, and was a past president of the Richmond Virginia Estate Planning Council. He spent his working years running marathons and playing golf, but it was in his retirement that he found his true passion, the love of the land. Mike and Linda bought a farm in Fluvanna County where he learned how to build fences, bail hay, renovate homes, and ride and care for his horse Dixie. He even tried fox hunting and always felt honored to ride with the hounds. He loved putting on his tool belt, picking up a chainsaw, and planting a garden.

He was a man of many talents, a good photographer. He took and printed the pictures and made the mats and frames. In his wood working shop he made special blue bird houses and fine furniture.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda; his daughters Missy Reynolds and her husband Ralph, and Amy Galvin and her husband Rich; his son Michael Roane and his wife Alaina; his adored grandchildren, Dr. Morgan Fuqua, Anna Galvin, Chase Roane, Carter Grace Roane, and Sydney Weaver. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Pam Roane; his Arizona nieces, Kelly Byrne, Kathy Wood, and Ashley Schoolar; and his special friend Megan Roane.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Overcash and his brother Joseph Roane.

We love you Mike, you will live on in our hearts forever.

Mike will be laid to rest at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, at his beloved Maiden Down Farm; 715 Community House Road, Kents store, Virginia, 23084. A reception will follow.
