CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The one of six men charged in the August 11, 2017 tiki torch march at UVa who chose to go to trial has entered an Alford plea… a claim he’s innocent but pleading guilty for the purpose of taking a deal. Pasadena, TX resident Williams Fears pleaded guilty Tuesday in Albemarle Circuit Court to a count burning an object on public property with intent to intimidate. Video from Unicorn Riot that night appears to show Fears hitting someone with a tiki torch during the riot that night.
The plea calls for five years in prison with four suspended… and 1 year probation. While he gets time served, he’s wanted in Pennsylvania to likely serve time there on a firearms incident.
