RUCKERSVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A Thursday water main break has caused a “boil water advisory” for parts of the Ruckersville area. Greene County Department of Water and Sewer, along with the state health department, has issued the advisory for some neighborhoods off Spring Hill Drive in Ruckersville where the main broke. While some of the affected roads may have regained water pressure, the possibly exists of the presence of E. coli bacteria from infiltration into the distribution system.

Residents in the affected area are advised to use bottled water or boil tap water for 1 minute before using for drinking, cooking, or teeth brushing. While the advisory is “until further notice”, it’s anticipated the problem will be resolved within one week.

• Greene Lea Drive
