CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UVA baseball stars Griff O’Ferrall and Ethan Anderson were both chosen by the Baltimore Orioles in the Major League Baseball draft’s first two rounds Sunday. Both are natives of the Commonwealth with O’Ferrall from Richmond — the Brooks Wallace Award winner for college baseball’s best shortstop — was the 32nd overall selection in the 1st round.
Anderson, a Virginia Beach native, was chosen by the O’s in the 2nd Round… going 61st overall. Anderson has played catcher, first base, and outfield over his tenure with the Hoos.
It’s the 2nd straight season multiple Hoos were chosen in the first two rounds.
