SHIPMAN (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect in the homicide last week of Kevin Scott Small of Shipman. Last Friday, deputies found 48-year-old Small with a gunshot wound to the chest inside his home, where he was pronounced dead. He’s believed to have been shot the day before.

A search is on for 22-year-old Katelynn Ann Hipes, an Augusta County resident, on warrants of 2nd-dgree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Nelson County Sheriff Mark Embrey says the search has been ramped up with assistance from other agencies in the area. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office at (434) 263-7050.
