Myrtle T. Thompson, 94, of Afton, Virginia entered eternal rest on November 10, 2024, at The Colonnades in Charlottesville, VA. She was born on August 16, 1930 to the late Willie T. and Bessie Smith Thompson.
Myrtle lived a life full of love and purpose, and will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, captivating storytelling, and love for her family and friends. She had an ability to connect with others, making everyone she met feel like a close friend.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her siblings, Fred T. Thompson, Mary T. Thompson, and Shirley M. Thompson; her daughter, Diane McCauley and son, Theodore “Teddy” Berkley.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Peggy Heath of Richmond, VA; Debra Berkley of Richmond, VA; and Roberta Thompson of Fredericksburg, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored deeply.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of The Colonnades and Hospice of the Piedmont for the care they provided to her over the last few years.
