CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Outgoing Albemarle Jack Jouett Supervisor Diantha McKeel is endorsing Sally Duncan in the June 17 Democratic primary. Duncan, a Renaissance School history teacher, is running against economist/historian Dave Schreve for the Democrats’ nomination. The primary winner will be the likely supervisor as no Republican or independent has announced a run for the retiring McKeel’s seat.
McKeel writes, “”Sally has demonstrated the ability to ask questions, listen and do the necessary work to learn and lead. Sally advocates, as I have, for key policies that will benefit community: affordable housing, transit, education, public safety, and economic growth to lessen the dependence on real property taxes. I am confident Sally, if elected, will be an effective and compassionate leader, building community and celebrating the amazing diversity of the Jack Jouett District.”
Duncan in a social media response posts, “Diantha has served this community for so many years, and she has been a fount of knowledge and I have learned so much from her experience. I am incredibly grateful for her support and guidance.”
