Margie Irene “Ivy” Glass
Ivy Glass, 85, of Troy, Va. passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, Mary 22, 2024.
She was born on January 4, 1939 in Schuyler, Va., a daughter of the late Dennis Edward Hall and Margie Virginia (Bruce) Hall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Stuart Glass; her sons Ricki James Collins (Laurie) and Randall Aubrey Collins (Vickie); a brother Dennis Hall; and a sister Ruby Willoughby.
Ivy was the owner of the Crescent Inn Restaurant, a member (Sister or Honor) of the Doe Club (Elk Lodge 389), a Virginia Athletics Foundation member for over fifty years, and a long-time member of the Queen Esther Chapter 14. She owned and operated the Crescent Inn until her retirement in 2015 when she leased the business. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and looked forward to organizing the Children’s Christmas Party and Easter Egg Hunt among many other Doe Club events. Ivy was loved by many in her community and will always be remembered for her generosity and selfless nature.
Survivors include her children: Rita Sue Glass and Robert “R.S.” Glass Jr.; her grandchildren Randall Stuart James Collins (Jenn), Daniel Travis Williams, Samantha Jade Fitzgerald (Timmy), and Candace Ivy Legan (Andrew); her great grandchildren Eli David Fitzgerald, Raiden James Stuart Collins, Elliott Stuart Fitzgerald, Emmett Michael Fitzgerald, Elena Jade Fitzgerald, Emelia Aubrey Fitzgerald, and great grandson on the way baby Legan. She is also survived by her sisters Virginia Herndon, Lucille Alley, Jannie Bryant, Betty Willoughby, Dorothy Jones, and Daisy Kidd (Bill); and her brother Guy Hall (Cecelia).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital.
