Louise Loretta Brown Cousins went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2024, at the age of 85. She was born June 10, 1938.

Louise was preceded in death by the daughter of the late Homer Brown Sr. and Annie Belle Brown, her parents, two sisters, Annie Mae Washington and Shirley Barbour and one brother, Homer Brown Jr. She is survived by her children: Cheri Onuegbu, Charles Woodfolk Jr. (Etta), Wanda Woodfolk and Dr. Stanley Woodfolk (Paula), all of Charlottesville, VA., and her grandchildren: Chad, Ryan, Quincee, Brittany, Tinsley, Chelsea, Chukwudi, Justin, Amaka, Vanessa and several great-grandchildren. We also want to recognize her nieces, nephews and one sister-in-law, Doris Brown.

Louise graduated from Jackson P. Burley and went on to work for over three decades for Comdial, a tele-communication company and Albemarle County School District. She attended the Mary Williams Center and enjoyed going to the center to be with her friends. She was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders, aka, “Redskins” and she loved all sports, especially the “Hoos”. She enjoyed her walking exercise and walked daily. Louise loved her family and was dedicated to them and encouraged them. Mom was our biggest fan.

We thank God that our Mother is dwelling in the presence of God and reminded of the comfort of Psalm 91. We thank the Evergreen Ministries church family and friends for their comfort and support during this difficult time.

We love you Mom and thank you for loving us.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Evergreen Ministries, 2001 Earlysville Road, Earlysville, Va. with Pastor Stanley Woodfolk officiating. Interment was held following the service at Fairview Cemetery, Waynesboro, Va.
