LOUISA COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A Louisa County man has been charged with 2nd-degree murder for the death of his girlfriend.

At approximately 11:20 AM on February 28, 2025, the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call from a man regarding an incident that had occurred with his girlfriend. The call was made from a residence in the 1000 block of West Old Mountain Road.

While deputies were en route, they were informed that the man had made several concerning statements and was still inside the residence. Upon arrival, law enforcement units encountered Raymond Jenkins, 53, who was identified as the caller.

Deputies entered the residence and discovered a deceased female who had suffered severe wounds in a back bedroom. The victim was later identified as Rhea Harlow, 51, of Louisa. Her body has been transported to the Medical Examiner for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

As a result of the investigation, Raymond Jenkins was charged 2nd-degree homicide. He was arrested and is currently being held without bond.  Jenkins will appear in Louisa County General District Court on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 8:30 AM.
