CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- The construction of a Locust Avenue water main is progressing, and Charlottesville motorists will need to look out for new road closures as roadwork shifts north.   

The road closures allowing work to take place during the day will close down the area between Poplar and Hazel streets.  This portion of the roadway will be blocked off from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. daily.  

Detours are in place for both pedestrian and vehicle traffic, but it is recommended you find alternate travel routes whenever possible.  Avoid the area during these times of day if you can.
