CHARLOTTESVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The number of women earning $200,000 or more jumped 38.7% over the past decade, according to new LendingTree research. But even as more women break into the top income brackets, the wealth gap continues — especially in Virginia. A LendingTree survey ranks Virginia 10th in the nation for the biggest gender pay disparity among workers earning less than $25,000, with women accounting for 59% of the state’s lowest earners. And among those making six figures, 66.8% are men — placing Virginia No. 43 nationally for high-income gender inequality.
