Monday, February 12th, Lena Pearl Garver Bryant was called to her heavenly home to eternally reunite with her late husband and soulmate, Robert (Bob) Bryant, Sr., her only daughter, Barbara Bryant Williams, and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 88 years old. She was born August 12th, 1935 to John and Ethel (Davis) Garver.

Lena spent the majority of her life as a member of the Free Union Community and Free Union Church of the Brethren. She built a career committing 25+ years as an Administrative Assistant with the UVA Radiology Department until she retired in 2006. Lena’s greatest passions in life included her faith, spending time with her children, eventually building bonds with each of her grandchildren, and even having the pleasure of cherishing her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed hosting all the family events at her home for all the holidays and beautiful weather cookouts. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing a handful of Bingo cards around town, or you could catch her strolling the mall, shopping at Belk. She also loved cuddling her precious dachshund Dede, and late dachshund, JJ.

In addition to her beloved husband, Lena was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, eight siblings, and two grandchildren (Jennifer Williams & Autumn Fortune). Lena is survived by her brother Broadus (wife, Lois) Garver, Son-In-Law, Thurman K. Williams, Jr., and two Sons: Stanley (Kim) Bryant, and Robert Bryant, Jr. Her Grandchildren: Brandon (Chassity) Bryant, daughter Kaylynn; Dwayne (wife, Kelly) Williams, Children: Brantley & Madison; Stephen (wife, Ashley) Williams, daughters Emma & Lilly; Justin (wife, Megan) Bryant, daughter Caroline and Chad (wife, Kristin) Bryant, son Deacon.

Visitation will be held at Teague Funeral Home, Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Funeral Service will be hosted at Free Union Church of the Brethren on Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00am, interment to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends are welcome to join for lunch at the Free Union Church of the Brethren following the interment. Any donations can be made to the Free Union Church of the Brethren in Lena’s honor.
