Kathlene Butler Harding, 98, of Charlottesville, Virginia died on December 29th, 2025, at her home.

Born October 15th, 1926, in Alberene Virginia, she was the daughter of Rosser H. Butler and Lois B. Butler. She was preceded in death by her husband L. Gene Harding and her sister Myrtle Ware.

Kathlene’s life was expansive, seeing things evolve from the first car to a man on the moon. She could recall a single phone for a town and watched as everyone began to have a personal phone in their pocket. She survived the Great Depression, the Second World War, and a global pandemic.

Kathelene was a Life member of the Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad and was a recipient of the Jole Cochran award for services above and beyond.

Kathlene is survived by her son, David Harding, and daughter in law Karen Harding, as well as her three granddaughters Kathy Bordt (Joey), Kaylynne Ford (Jesse), Sarah Gibson (Tyler) and seven great grandsons.

The family would like to sincerely thank Cammie, Brandy, and the staff at Time for You for the loving care and support they provided.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Charlottesville Albemarle Rescue Squad.
