Jo Lee Tarbell of Charlottesville, VA, died April 7, 2024, at the Hospice of the Piedmont Acute Care Center.

Born May 18, 1934, in Connellsville, PA, she was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Louise Fuller. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Ellis Tarbell. They met during high school in Cleveland, OH, and raised their family in Findlay, OH, the suburbs of Cleveland and eventually Dayton, OH.

Jo Lee had moved to Charlottesville in 1998, a few years after her husband passed away while they were residing near Asheville, NC. She was a homemaker, a talented cook, and actively involved in the raising of her two grandchildren who worshiped the ground she walked on. Most of all, she was The Handmaiden – passionate about quilting and highly skilled in many genres of needlework. Jo Lee is survived by her two sons; Richard Tarbell II and his daughter, Cameron, and Robert Tarbell of Sarasota, FL, and his daughter Dottie.
