Jim Thurman Gentry, 77, of Troy, Va., passed away February 13, 2024, at home with his family by his side. Born June 20th, 1946, he was the son of the late Frank Tucker Gentry and Mary Magdalene Holsapple Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his siblings; Frank, Walter, Charles, Lonnie Gentry, and Sadie Wright.

He is survived by his beautiful wife, Debbie Gentry, of 40 years; two loving daughters; Diane (Brian) & Jenna (L.J); he was blessed with a precious granddaughter, Adelyn Presley, his little doll baby. He is also survived by sister Clara Boatwright and host of nieces & nephews. In previous relationships he was step-dad to Benji (2021), Gary, Jimmy, Lynne, Debbie, Millie.

Jim was a self taught plumber and a Mr. Fix it. “Jack of all trades master of none,” he’d say. Jim retired from L.A. Lacy, he worked as a plumber foreman for 24 years. He also worked at many other places throughout his life including W.E. Brown and Huntfords Mechanical.
