James Ray Easton, 79, of Charlottesville, VA died on February 13, 2024, at Martha Jefferson Hospital.

Born on May 10, 1944, in Charlottesville, he was the son of Floyd Ray Easton and Lillian Gray Easton.

James graduated from Lane High School in 1963 and worked for many years at Monticello Dairy before starting his primary career at General Electric. After retiring from GE, he worked part-time at Kroger. He also served in the National Guard for 22 years. He attended Northside Baptist Church where he enjoyed greeting people, passing out bulletins, and giving out candy.

He was preceded in death by his father Floyd, and siblings Bonnie Bennett, Joe Easton, and baby sister Debra Easton.

James was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Betty Moubray Easton and their sons Travis and RJ (Amanda), his mother Lillian Easton, sister Sherryelle Shiflett (Don), and grandsons Chase, Walker, and Ryder Easton. He is also survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Barbara Easton, Jean Yowell, Harvey Moubray (Sherry), Roy Moubray, Ricky Moubray (Kim); nieces and nephews Tammy Shiflett, Tabitha Gore (Mike), Trisha Shiflett (Megan), Tracy Davis (Chris), Mark Bennett, Roseanne Yowell (Scott), Rachel Grimsby (Greg), Michelle Yowell (Tracy Saxon), Courtney Lantinga (Daniel), Cody Moubray (Kendall Breeden), Bethany Moubray (Ryan Taylor), Spencer Breeden (Courtney Wright), Zach Moubray (Bridgette Warner), Tyler Moubray, Corey Moubray (Kayla), and numerous great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and extended family.
