CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Virginia Cavaliers’ baseball will continue its road to Omaha Friday night at 7. The NCAA shortly after 10am Tuesday released the schedule for the 8 baseball Super Regionals, one of which the Hoos will host this coming weekend. The 44-15 Hoos host 35-24 Kansas State, who upset Arkansas in the Fayetteville Regional last weekend, starting Friday night. The two will continue the best-of-three Saturday afternoon at Disharoon at 3pm, then they’ll play 3pm Sunday if a rubber game is needed. The Hoos won all three games they played this past weekend at the Charlottesville Regional to advance to this next round of 16.
It’s been a tournament of upsets after five 3-seeds and one 4-seed won regionals. The Hoos are also one of five ACC teams to advance, the most of any conference in the nation, in addition to North Carolina, Florida State, NC State, and Clemson.
