CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UVA football defensive line coaches Kevin Downing and Chris Slade got an early Christmas present in the person of one of the top-rated transfers in school history when Hunter Osborne committed Monday afternoon to the Hoos. Osborne comes to UVA with three seasons eligibility left after playing four games this past season at the University of Alabama making three tackles and one pass breakup. The Trussville, AL native was a consensus 4-star recruit coming out of high school’s Class of 2023 and chose Alabama at the time among 50 Division I offers, choosing the Tide over Auburn, Tennessee, and Texas. He did not play and redshirted after the 2023 season. He’s the Hoos’ third transfer to the defensive line so far, and eleventh transfer overall.
