CULPEPER, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – As temperatures drop well below freezing overnight, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) warns drivers of hazardous travel conditions across the Culpeper District. Another round of snow is expected early Thursday, potentially impacting the morning commute.
VDOT urges drivers to delay travel until after the snow stops falling and road crews have had time to treat and clear affected areas. Temperatures are expected to remain at or below freezing, increasing the risk of icy roads, especially on bridges, ramps, overpasses, and intersections. Ice may carry into Friday morning.
“If you must travel, drive slowly and allow extra following distance,” VDOT advises. “Be cautious, particularly in areas prone to freezing, and give road crews plenty of space to work.”
