HARRISONBURG, VA (ROCKTOWN NOW) – Harrisonburg Police are investigating an apparent shooting incident that happened Thursday afternoon in the southern end of the city. City Communications Director Mike Parks told Rocktown Now that the call came in shortly after 12:30 p.m. for shots fired at the 7-11 convenience store on South Main Street.

“The Harrisonburg Police Department immediately responded, along with EMS units with Harrisonburg Fire departments,” Parks said. “We put out a call to shelter in place for area businesses out of an abundance of caution while we looked for any involved parties with the possibility of shots fired.”

The suspect was last seen driving a black, four-door Ford sedan on Greendale Road. The vehicle has a damaged or missing driver’s side front window.
