CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Tabitha Lynn Head pleaded guilty to the September 7, 2023 homicide of Brian Patrick Kiser in the 11th Street Parking Garage on Friday, March 8.
The UVA Police Department says the two, who knew each other, had traveled to UVA Medical Center earlier in the day.
Officers who were dispatched to the garage around 4:45 p.m. arrived to find a man lying on the ground with a medical professional administering life-saving procedures.
Brian Patrick Kiser had been stabbed in the torso, with the weapon found not far away.
Tabitha Lynn Head was soon taken into custody and charged with voluntary manslaughter.
“The swift response by the University of Virginia Police Department led to the immediate apprehension and arrest of Ms. Head. Mr. Kiser’s family looks forward to providing victim impact testimony at the sentencing hearing and sharing with the court how this tragedy has affected them,” says Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney Joe Platania.
Head faces up to ten years in prison and will be sentenced on August 2.
