RICHMOND, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Governor Youngkin has set September 9 for a special election for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District seat vacated by the death of Gerry Connolly. Connolly passed May 21 after holding the seat since 2009. He flipped the northern Virginia seat in the 2008 election of Barack Obama for President… a Congressional seat that was held by Republican Tom Davis. The last day to file for candidacy is July 11, and all the information is on the state elections department website.
