Genevieve Marie Krynitsky of Barboursville, Virginia passed away peacefully at her home on February 9, 2024. She was 92 years old. Genevieve was born on January 16, 1932, in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania to John F. and Anna G. Kyauskas. Genevieve was preceded in death by her father (John), mother (Anna), brothers (Joe & John) and sister (Virginia) and her beloved and only daughter Diane Smith.
Genevieve was very active in her family, community, church and prayer groups throughout her life. She was totally selfless and exceedingly generous, donating to schools, booster clubs, wildlife funds, the SPCA, and many other charitable organizations.
Genevieve was an avid card player and loved hosting bridge and dinner parties for all of her friends and family members over the years. She adored having a full house, surrounded by those she loved most.
She was the truest definition of a homemaker, and enjoyed cooking for her family, sewing, and raising her children. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and her family is grateful to have had time to celebrate with her this past December – memories they will always cherish. Later in life, she took an active role in the lives of her grandchildren – passing along family recipes, providing piano lessons, attending their sporting events, and so much more.
Genevieve is survived by her loving husband of 69 years George Krynitsky, Mark and Tricia Krynitsky (son and wife), Joseph Krynitsky (son), Jeff Krynitsky (son), 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Her family is her most cherished legacy that she leaves behind and she will be dearly missed.
