CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Virginia Baseball team is headed to Omaha and the College World Series for the seventh time in the last 21 seasons but more impressively the third time in the last four years. Virginia will open the CWS against a familiar foe, the North Carolina Tarheels. The Hoos took two of three from UNC in April, but many would argue that North Carolina is currently playing some of the best baseball in the country as the number four overall national seed. The Hoos and Heels will renew the rivalry at 2p.m. EST in Omaha on Friday and coverage on WINA will begin at 2p.m. Every game that Virginia participates in during the CWS will be carried on WINA, with Adam Hawes calling the action. Last year Virginia went 0-2 in the CWS losing two one run ballgames, however this year they went undefeated in regional play and are riding momentum to travel the 1186 miles to Omaha.
