CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The immediate Charlottesville area is excepted, but a freeze warning is in effect overnight for higher elevations and the Shenandoah Valley. The National Weather Service subfreezing temperatures as low as 30 are expected, and the warning is in effect from 2am to 9am Wednesday for Augusta, Rockingham, Page, and Shenandoah counties — including Harrisonburg, Stuarts Draft, Staunton, and Waynesboro. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing… so covering them up or bringing indoors what you can before going to bed tonight in those locations is recommended.
