Francis E. “Jack” McCormick passed on November 11, 2024.
Born on January 12th, 1933 in Glendower, VA., he was the son of the late Emmett B. McCormick and Fanny Staples McCormick.
Preceding him in death are his wife Shirley C. McCormick; stepmother Irena Norvelle McCormick; sister Kathryn M. Baldridge; brothers Emmett “Brack” McCormick, Thomas S. McCormick Sr., Hansford O. McCormick, Franklin L. McCormick; stepbrothers Augustus “Gus” Norvelle, Fred T. Norvelle, Leroy A. Norvelle, Alwyn Norvelle; and stepsister Helen Mallar.
He is survived by his daughter Stephanie Hall and her husband Edwin, along with a host of beloved nieces and nephews, whom lovingly refereed to him as “Unc”. He is also survived by special friends Eddie and Pam McDonald, Steve and Carolyn Powell, Noel Rivas and Yesenia Rivas Hernandez, as well as Mary and family.
Jack (Po Jack) was an avid fisherman and hunter who enjoyed the outdoors. He took much joy in spending his free time with his beloved dog Roxie. He also liked mowing the lawn and sitting down with a good cold beer, as well as being an active member of Crossroads Community Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the local SPCA.
