LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): Just days after signing his first NBA contract, a two-way deal with the Golden State Warriors, former Cavalier point guard Reese Beekman put a statement performance against the Miami Heat in Summer League action.

Beekman played 20 minutes in a 39-point rout of the Heat, 105-66. He was not on the floor for long, but did enough to make his presence known, going 3-7 from the field, including 6 points from beyond the three-point line, adding a rebound, an assist, and a block, finishing on an even 10 points for the night.

The two-time ACC player of the year impressed his coach, Anthony Vereen, with his defensive abilities, but Vereen was even more complimentary of his offensive instincts, saying “What I didn’t know was how well he can push the ball and play at this speed.” If Reese continues to impress, he may have a productive first season of NBA action in store.
