HARRISONBURG, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — A former Nexus executive, Richard Moore of Fishersville, was scheduled to receive his sentence in U.S. District Court on May 29, 2025, but failed to appear for the hearing’s 10 o’clock start time.
As a result, the hearing was continued due to an undisclosed medical issue.
The judge asked Moore’s attorneys to report back to the U.S. District Court when there is more information available.
Exiting the courtroom, Moore’s lead counsel Mario Williams told Rocktown Now, “Even I don’t know what’s going on.”
The 47-year-old Moore faces up to 10 years in prison and a 500-thousand dollar fine after pleading guilty in January of defrauding the IRS of over three million dollars.
