St. Catherines, Canada (CVILLE RIGHT NOW): Two former Hoos played an instrumental part in the silver medal winning campaign of the USA at the U23 World Rowing Championships in Canada.
Kate Kelly and Zoe Tekeian, the coxswain and 7-seat respectively in the women’s eight, pushed the USA to a time of 6:08.35, good for second behind world rowing powerhouse Great Britain, who won the race with a time of 6:06:58.
Two current Hoos were also competing in the field, Freshman Paula Lutz for Germany, and Senior Tegan Orth for Canada.
