FLUVANNA COUNTY, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Linda Jean Eckert faces multiple charges after a reported protective order violation and a high-speed pursuit, according to the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office.
Police say the incident began on November 12 when officers from the Lake Monticello Police Department spotted Eckert trespassing near a residence tied to an active protective order against her. When officers attempted to stop her, Eckert allegedly fled, so they contacted the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office due to concerns over her driving.
Authorities broadcasted a lookout for Eckert, suspecting she was headed toward Albemarle County. Shortly after, a crash was reported on Union Mills Road, just over the Albemarle County line, where Eckert was identified as the suspect. The Albemarle County Police took her into custody following a short pursuit.
Eckert is now charged with violating a protective order, trespassing, disregarding law enforcement signals, and reckless driving in Fluvanna County.
