CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Jen Fleisher, a program officer at the Blue Ridge Health District, filed her paperwork Monday for her candidacy in the June 17 Charlottesville City Council Democratic primary. She breaks up the party between Mayor JuanDiego Wade and Vice Mayor Brian Pinkston who jointly announced their bids for re-election back in December.
Fleisher highlights extensive regional leadership experience in launching mass vaccination sites as well as the health districts mobile vaccination program throughout the region. She advocates a reliable regional transit system as she says “transportation impacts every facet of our lives — our physical health, economic security, and community connections”. She also advocates safer streets by “calming traffic and improving our crosswalks, sidewalks, and mixed-use paths”.
