CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Around 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, Albemarle County Fire Rescue responded to a fire at Kohr Brothers Frozen Custard.
Fire crews arrived within minutes, finding smoke coming from the attic and a mulch fire outside. They were able to put out both fires by 1:21 p.m. Two staff members inside safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported.
Early reports suggest an electrical issue in the attic may have started the fire, though the Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office is still investigating. Kohr Brothers will stay closed for now as they work on repairs.
