CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A home in the Dunlora area of Albemarle County is a complete loss after fire, that was ruled accidental, raged through it Monday afternoon. While the home was not occupied at the time, two pet dogs were killed in the blaze.
Albemarle Fire was dispatched shortly before 5 Monday afternoon to a home in the 2100 block of Loring Circle and arrived six minutes later to find a single-family building fully engulfed in flames and spreading to two adjacent homes. Witt help from Charlottesville Fire, firefighters were able to contain the fire around 6:15PM. The two pet dogs died, and they’re still searching for pet cats.
While this home was a complete loss and the residents are being helped by family and friends, no residents are displaced in the other two homes affected. While ruled accidental, the specific cause of the fire is under investigation.
