BARBOURSVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A family of five and their two dogs are getting help from the Red Cross after escaping a fire in their home near the Barboursville Vineyards early Sunday morning. Albemarle County Fire was dispatched around 12:18am Sunday to a home in the 3700 block of Vineyard Road. Crews arrived around 12:42 to find smoke emitting from the roof and chimney of a single-family home. The five with their dogs were able to safely escape, and no one was hurt. ACFR along with assistance from Orange County Fire and EMS were able to extinguish the fire. While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the Fire Marshal does believe it to be accidental.
