RUCKERSVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A significant fire destroyed a house on Marshall Road near Ruckersville this past Saturday evening. Responding at around 6:20 PM, crews from Ruckersville, Stanardsville, and Dyke volunteer fire companies were joined by firefighters from Madison and Barboursville in battling the fire, which had fully engulfed the home upon their arrival. Fortunately, the stables located on the property were not affected.

No injuries were reported, but the family residing there has been displaced and is currently seeking alternative living arrangements. Melissa Fava, whose mother and sister lived in the home for over four decades, has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to assist with recovery efforts. The funds raised will help maintain the farm and care for various animals, including horses, pigs, barn cats, and a goat named Lisbon.
