SOUTH RIDING (CVILLE RIGHT NOW/WTOP) – The family of a missing Loudoun County college student reported missing Thursday from a Dominican Republic beach is asking law enforcement there to widen their investigation into a possible abduction. Authorities have been searching the beaches and waters near the resort of Punta Cana in the D-R for 20-year old Sudiksha Konarki… a South Riding resident on spring break studying at the University of Pittsburgh. Several sources are reporting this morning authorities have interviewed a man she was reportedly seen swimming with Thursday.

An AWARE Foundation missing person poster notes Konanki was last seen 4:50AM March 6 on the beach at Riu Republica Resort and has not been seen or heard from since. She was last seen wearing a brown, two-piece bikini, big round earrings, a metal designer anklet on her right leg, yellow and steel bracelets on her right hand, and a multicolored beaded bracelet on her left hand. She’s about 5’3″ tall with black hair and brown eyes.

WTOP Radio reports Konarki is a Thomas Jefferson High grad doing pre-med at Pitt. Click here where her father tells WTOP she was in the Dominican with five other female friends from Pitt and arrived there last Monday, March 3.
