CHARLOTTSVILLE (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UPDATE: The fire was rendered under control and the emergency alert lifted just prior to 6:30 Thursday evening, about an hour after the alert was issued.

ORIGANAL: UVA Emergency Communications has issued an alert about a brushfire near the Water Filtration Plant on 585 McCormick Rd.   They recommend avoiding the area until further notice.  More updates to follow as they are received.
