CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW)The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning from 11am to 7pm for a critical wildfire risk. The warning says “a combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.”

The outlook covers a wide region including Albemarle, Greene, Nelson, Madison, Orange, and Culpeper counties, as well as parts of northern Virginia, eastern West Virginia, and central Maryland. Residents in the Albemarle area should monitor updates and avoid unnecessary outdoor burning. The outlook remains active through Tuesday evening.
