Dolores M. Wells of Charlottesville, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother entered into eternal rest Friday, July 26, 2024.

She was born August 13, 1934 in Charlottesville to the late Frank and Lottie Morris and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Wells, Jr., her sister, Katherine Durham, her brother, Frank Morris, Jr. and her daughter in law, Peggy Wells.

Dolores is survived by her two sons, Gregory L. Wells and his wife Barbara Sartin Wells of Charlottesville, and Robert “Bobby” Wells, III of Charlottesville; five grandchildren, Stephanie Wells Rhodes and husband Larry Rhodes, Cameron Wells Marsh and husband Chris Marsh, Gregory L. Wells, Il and wife Casey Davis Wells, Tiffany Wells and Lauren Wells; eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and one precious sheltie, Chloe.

She graduated from Lane High School and was previously co-owner of Intrastate Pest Control Co., Inc. She was a dedicated and active member of First Baptist Church on Park Street and loved singing in the church choir.

She loved celebrating birthdays, weddings, graduations and every holiday from Easter to Christmas with her family but Christmas was always her favorite!

She took a lot of pride in her beautiful property on Garth Road and tried to maintain it as long as she could after she lost Bob. She even cut the grass on her own until we took away the keys.

She enjoyed getting away to Williamsburg whenever she could. She loved to shop and never missed a chance to eat at the Aberdeen Barn.

The family would like to thank Trinity Hospice and especially Kristen Terry for the loving care she gave her. Also a special thank you to her deacons from First Baptist Church, Ron Boardman and Johnny Johnson for the many, many hours they spent with her. They were so faithful with their visits and flowers!

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Trinity Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association Central and Western Virginia, and Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA.
