CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW)- The long-awaited Crozet Ave. roundabout, connecting the Rockfish Gap Turnpike and Brownsville Turnpike, is set to open this Thursday, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation release.

The announcement emphasizes that construction is not yet complete, and crews will continue their work until all aspects of the project are completed.  However, the process has reached a point that the roundabout can be fully opened to traffic, and the temporary detour on the Brownsville Turnpike can be removed.

Drivers are encouraged to continue travelling with caution, as work continues at the site for the foreseeable future.
