CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – A 52-year-old Charlottesville woman was shot and killed Friday night in the city, and police are searching for a suspect witnesses reported seeing fleeing the scene.

Beatriz Mendez Feliciano suffered a gunshot wound to the head. CPD responded to a report of an injured woman at approximately 5:30 p.m. Friday, and found Feliciano in an apartment at 2204 North Berkshire Rd. She was transported to UVA Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.

“Witnesses reported a possible suspect fleeing the residence,” CPD announced. “He is described as a Hispanic male who left the area in what witnesses could only describe as an older model red car. Preliminary information indicates this may be a domestic-related incident.”
