CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLERIGHTNOW) – The Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) located Gustabo Junior Laurent in connection with the July 28, 2024, shooting in the 100 block of Market Street. He was taken into custody the afternoon of August 5 without incident.
Someone near Market Street Park flagged down officers at approximately 1:38 a.m. to report that a friend had just been shot. A 33-year-old male was taken to UVA Medical Center, where he was soon in stable condition.
Laurent was wanted for malicious wounding & felon in possession of a firearm in connection to a shooting.
