CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Charlottesville Police Department (CPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred on July 28, 2024, in the 100 block of E Market St.

Around 1:38 a.m., officers patrolling the area were flagged down by a person who reported that his friend had been shot. A 33-year-old male victim was found and transported to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.

The incident appears to be isolated.

The CPD is requesting anyone with information or video footage from the 100 block of Market St., 100 block of 1st St. North, or the 100 block of Main St. to contact the Crime Stoppers Tip Line at (434) 977-4000 to submit an anonymous tip.
