CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Circuit and General District courts are closed until Thursday for moving. They are closing to complete their move from the current courthouse to the new joint Charlottesville-Albemarle Courts complex adjacent to Court Square.
The Daily Progress reports the complex was supposed to have a June 16 opening, but Albemarle Circuit Court Clerk Jon Zug called the construction “a s— show”. An Albemarle County release states the county Circuit Court clerk’s office will open to the public 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. The General District Court clerk’s office will open to the public 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday. Both the Albemarle General District and Circuit courts will hold scheduled court proceedings Thursday.
