Charlottesville, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – This week on The Chamber LIVE, the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized Khalila Jones, the Vanguard Award winner from the Minority Business Alliance Gala, for her outstanding contributions to the local community. Jones, an image consultant and business owner, joined the segment to share her journey and dedication to uplifting others.
Reflecting on the award, Jones expressed surprise and humility, stating, “I was blown away. It was not expected at all.” She acknowledged the legacy behind the award, honoring John F. Bell Sr., founder of the oldest African American business in the area, Bell Funeral Home. Jones added, “That legacy is huge. It’s really a big deal, and the other piece of it, there are just so many people in this community that are doing big things.”
In addition to her business, Chic and Classy Image Consulting, Jones dedicates herself to multiple community initiatives. Her work ranges from mentoring youth to serving on several boards, including Women United in Philanthropy and the Black Professionals Network in Charlottesville. Jones advised viewers on the importance of balance, sharing, “Every yes that I give to someone else is a no to my family… they deserve my time and energy.”
